A man was airlifted to safety after suffering a fall at Pistyll Rhaeadr in Powys. Search and Rescue teams were called out to the Powys beauty spot after reports of a walker suffering a leg injury on Sunday (August 25). North East Wales Search and Rescue had to use a phone tracking system to locate the walker who had injured his lower leg in a fall.
When the team reached the casualty they decided that they needed to call in the maritime helicopter service to airlift them to safety due to concerns over hypothermia. A spokesperson for North East Wales Search and Rescue said: “On Sunday afternoon, we were called out by Dyfed Powys Police to a fallen walker in Pistyll Rhaeadr with a lower leg injury. “We used sarloc phonefind to confirm the casualty's location and got the team travelling.
