City breaks are a favourite for many globetrotters, with Europe alone offering a plethora of unique destinations. Worldwide, there's an infinite list of cities to explore, some of which people can't wait to visit again. So, which cities top the charts? A study by InsureandGo analysed online reviews to pinpoint the cities tourists are most eager to revisit.

Spain, Mexico and Germany all made their mark in the rankings, but a UK city clinched the top spot. London, the British capital, is the destination people can't wait to return to, perhaps due to its impressive range of attractions. According to the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP), it's also incredibly pedestrian-friendly.

The ITDP found that many Londoners live within 100m of a car-free zone, such as a square, park or pedestrian area. The city centre is packed with pedestrianised areas like Covent Garden, reports the Express . Famed for its rich history and architecture, London is home to 190 museums, over 850 art galleries and more than 22,000 pubs and restaurants.

Every year, around 30 million visitors from across the globe flock to London, compared to the 12 million who visited Barcelona in 2023. Statista data reveals that US tourists make up the largest group visiting London, followed by holidaymakers from France, Germany, Spain and Italy. The British Museum was crowned the most visited tourist attraction in London in 2023, with a whopping 5.
