TW: Mention of sexual assault, molestation, rape, trauma, and Vivek Agnihotri. Bollywood filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri recently took part in a march along with BJP leaders and cadets in Kolkata, seeking justice for the rape-murder victim and to make the city great again. The maker of the 2023 flop ‘The Vaccine War’ rallied with protesters on the streets of the city of joy with a gleeful smile, enjoying a little too much.

Yes! Public personalities will be scrutinized harder for every public appearance, and more so for their shenanigans at a somber event such as the RG Kar case. For the unversed on the midnight of August 9, 2024, a 31-year-old trainee postgrad doctor was raped and murdered after she went to sleep at the seminar hall of the state-run RG Kar medical college and hospital. After a 36-hour marathon shift, the victim had retired to the empty room for lack of a proper place of rest for the medicos.

The case has been transferred to the CBI now, with the Supreme Court taking suo motu cognizance and slamming the state government for their slack handling of the case. The state’s woman CM, Mamta Banerjee, who was criticized for her handling of the case also went on a march drawing flak. Dainik Bhaskar.
