Writer and director Vivek Agnihotri, and casting director Mukesh Chhabra, recently criticized the large involvement of managers and ‘middlemen’ in the professional lives of A-List Bollywood actors. On X, Agnihotri and Chhabra expressed their frustration over the negative impact of this trend on Bollywood. Without mentioning any names, Agnihotri shared a recent incident where he had to fire a lead actor from an upcoming project due to the unprofessional behavior of the actor’s manager.
In his tweet, Agnihotri wrote, “I had to fire a lead actor last week because his manager was so arrogant and behaved as if he had the prerogative to be like this just because he is an employee of a ‘Huge Celeb’s’ Star Kid Talent Agency.’ These middlemen have destroyed more careers than made it. Do a workshop and train these kids, Mukesh.
