Monday, January 27, 2025 Virgin Limited Edition reveals an elegant redesign of Mahali Mzuri in Kenya’s Maasai Mara, blending modern African style with sustainability, reopening June 2025. Virgin Limited Edition, the collection of award-winning hotels and retreats founded by Sir Richard Branson, is thrilled to unveil plans for a complete interior renovation of Mahali Mzuri, its luxury tented safari camp located in Kenya’s Maasai Mara. This ambitious project will include a re-imagining of the 12 luxury tents and shared spaces, such as the dining tent, bar, lounge, and the stunning swimming pool, all of which offer sweeping views over the valley traversed by the Great Wildebeest Migration.

The new design concept, developed in collaboration with Lynne Hunt London, aims to elevate the guest experience by creating an immersive and peaceful atmosphere that enhances the connection to the surrounding wilderness. While retaining its distinctive tented architecture and strong ties to Maasai heritage, the redesign will infuse modern African style, featuring natural materials and a warm, earthy colour scheme highlighted by accents of bold red and black, reflecting the traditional Maasai garments. Throughout the camp, a curated selection of contemporary works by local East African artists will further enrich the atmosphere.

Each of the luxurious tents, including a specially designed family tent, will offer expansive, open-plan suites with large wraparound windows and private terraces, .
