The rescheduled Seven Gables Vintage Show and Working Day will take place this weekend in aid of Donegal Hospice on the Donegal-Derry border. The event was cancelled last weekend due to the torrential rain. However, the forecast is looking good for the next few days and the organisers have confirmed it will go ahead this Saturday at Raymond McDaid’s farm, Legnaduff, Killea.

Last year’s effort raised a mammoth €16,795 for the Hospice . The show and demonstration kicks off at 11am next to the original showfield (BT489XP). There will be a huge variety of vintage tractors, lorries, cars and machinery on display as well as a corn threshing demonstration.

You can also view the beautiful waterwheel (below) in operation on McDaid’s farm, horse/tractor ploughing, and enjoy light refreshments and entertainment in aid of a very worthy cause. “Come along and have a chat about days gone by and enjoy a great day’s craic,” a spokesperson for the organisers said.

“All proceeds will go to the Donegal Hospice so, this year again, we want to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful service that is being provided to our community.” For further information, call Raymond on 0879187571 (ROI), Robin on 078 5004 7457 (NI) or go to the Seven Gables Facebook Page The beautiful working waterwheel on Raymond McDaid’s farm, Legnaduff, Killea..
