A village supermarket threw a special party to celebrate its 10th birthday. Tesco in Little Lever treated customers as a way of saying thank you for their support throughout the past decade after it closed the Tesco Metro store to make for the health centre and library and relocated to Crossley Street. Bolton FM entertained customers throughout the day and the Warburtons van drove into the car park to hand out hot crumpets, topped with everything from butter to Nutella.

"We were kindly gifted some delightful treats from Vimto, including a guess how many bon bons were in a bottle - kids and adults alike were desperate to guess correctly to win the wonderful prize.

"We had selection boxes of pies from Hollands , cakes from Park Cakes, Nestle were in store handing out chocolate treats and we had Uncle Joe's mint balls - all kindly gifted to the store for our community to enjoy "It truly was a remarkable day - we had a visit.
