A hair salon has been nominated for a string of awards. Gloss in High Street, Heathfield, has made it the finals of the 2024 Salon Awards, which celebrate the talents of hairdressers across the country. The salon, which has been part of the village for 14 years, is in the running for Best Customer Experience, while two staff have been nominated for individual awards.

There are six members of the team including an independent stylist and a skin expert. Gloss owner Ruth Bannister said: "I’m very proud of my team, many of who have been with me for just over a year.

"Each member brings unique talents that deserve to be acknowledged and celebrated. "Together, we strive to provide our clients with a five-star salon experience, complete with expert aftercare for their designer haircuts and colours. "Having been part of this village for 14 years, we feel fortunate to be embraced by such a supportive community.

"It truly makes coming to work a joy." The Salon Awards are open to all hair salons and professionals throughout the UK and Northern Ireland. Entries are judged by a panel of industry experts who specialise in salon business , hair technique, marketing and interior design.

The awards ceremony will be held over three days in November when the winners will be announ.
