Monday, November 18, 2024 Villa Vie Residences, a Florida-based cruise company, has captured global attention by introducing long-term cruising packages marketed as a way for American voters to escape the political climate during Donald Trump’s presidency. The innovative offerings align travel and political sentiment, resonating particularly with Democrat supporters. While positioned humorously, these packages highlight a growing trend of blending personal values with travel decisions, redefining the way people view prolonged escapes.
The company’s “Tour La Vie” cruise offers four distinct packages, humorously named to reflect their appeal to dissatisfied voters: With these cleverly named options, Villa Vie Residences invites travelers to experience a continuous journey spanning 425 ports in 140 countries. The longest package, the Four-Year Skip Forward, mirrors the length of a US presidential term and starts at $160,000 per person. Mikael Petterson, founder and CEO of Villa Vie Residences, explained that the marketing campaign had been in development long before the election results.
According to Petterson, the goal was not explicitly political but rather to provide an option for those looking to “escape” their daily reality. “If you’re looking for an escape, there is no better place than on a ship, where you can wake up every day to a new backyard and get everything you need taken care of,” he said. The cruise ship, Villa Vie Odyssey, accommodates up to 60.
