Marc Anthony’s luxurious villa in the Dominican Republic, known as “El Oasis,” was severely damaged by a fire early Thursday morning. The 55-year-old Puerto Rican singer, his wife Nadia Ferreira and his six children were not home at the time of the incident , reported TMZ. The blaze erupted around 7 a.

m. in the pool area of the property, located in La Romana along the Caribbean coast. The flames quickly spread, engulfing the roof and causing thick black smoke to billow into the sky.

Local firefighters responded swiftly, reportedly arriving on the scene within minutes. They eventually managed to get the flames under control after a roughly two-hour battle , according to Dominican Today. Luckily no one was injured in the fire, and all staff were evacuated safely.

Anthony’s representative confirmed the fire started in an area where bungalows are located, sparing the main house from any significant damage. The full extent of the destruction is still being assessed, but the property — which spans 10,000 square feet and features amenities such as two swimming pools, cabanas, pavilions and more — is expected to require significant repairs. The villa was purchased in 2014 by Anthony and his then-wife, Shannon De Lima, who he married after divorcing Jennifer Lopez .

It has served as a vacation getaway for him and his family. While local authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire, Anthony has reportedly expressed gratitude to the emergency crews who responded.
