If you've ever wondered what a clubhouse celebration looks like after a team wins the World Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers proved it's not dissimilar to a college frat party. Video from the Dodgers' locker room after their 7-6 win over the New York Yankees showed coolers and buckets of empty beer bottles, champagne bottles, World Series pennants and a group of very happy people. The Dodgers captured their eighth World Series title in Game 5 at Yankee Stadium in thrilling fashion.
The Yankees were in control with a 5-0 lead and four no-hit innings from Gerrit Cole to start the game. Things unraveled for the Yankees in the fifth inning with two errors and an infield hit by Mookie Betts on a soft grounder to first baseman Anthony Rizzo that could have ended the inning with no runs scored if Cole covered the bag. Los Angeles took advantage of the miscues with five runs in the frame to tie the score.
The Yankees went back on top 6-5 on a sacrifice fly from Giancarlo Stanton in the bottom of the sixth, but the Dodgers got two in the eighth on sac flies from Gavin Lux and Betts. Walker Buehler closed the game with a perfect ninth inning for the Dodgers to seal the win. The celebration was on in the Bronx at that point, with the visitors toasting their championship inside Yankee Stadium.
Fortunately, the locker room was covered in plastic so the cleanup from the Dodgers' party may not take too long. The Dodgers are the first road team to clinch a World Series title at Yankee Stadium.
