VICKY Pattison has opened up on her decision to get a pre-nuptial agreement with Ercan Ramadan ahead of their wedding. The former Geordie Shore star is just weeks away from saying 'I Do' to businessman Ercan , whom she's been dating since 2019. However, Vicky's noted that, while she believes they'll be married for a lifetime, they made the tough decision to call in lawyers for a pre-nup to ensure their mutual financial security.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Vicky explained: "Honestly, I've worked hard my whole life, and I think it's important for women to protect themselves. I think it's important for men to protect themselves. "Erc and I are going to be together forever, I've got no doubt about that, but I think being financially responsible and protecting what you've worked for is smart.

There's no two ways about it." While Vicky admitted the pre-nup was a 'tough pill to swallow' and 'not a romantic conversation', she added she feels more protected now. Pre-nuptial agreements - which outline a couple's assets and how they'll be split should a marriage dissolve - aren't technically legally binding, and are a divisive growing trend for couples.

While some consider it smart, others believe it's a sign of a distrust in marriage before they've even tied the knot. However, courts often take the agreement into consideration should the worst casse scenario happens and the couple ends in a messy divorce. As a result, it was something that Vicky admits she did not take lightly.
