The 50 year old star, who was accompanied by his eldest daughter Phoebe, shared a photo on Instagram after the match, which saw Carlos Alcaraz defeat Novak Djokovic in just two hours and 27 minutes.
However, it was Vernon's attire that sparked conversation among his followers, with one asking: "Is that a padded t-shirt? ," followed by a laughing face emoji as well as a tennis and bicep emoji. Addressing the comments about his navy blue T-shirt during his BBC Radio 2 show, Vernon admitted that a "lot of people did comment" on his outfit. He said: "It's a strange morning, it doesn't feel like a Monday morning after the huge weekend of sport.
