Vadodara: Vehicles kept in the compound of Shehra police station in Panchmahal district went up in flames, along with the old police station building. The cause of the fire is not known yet. The blaze was first spotted in impounded vehicles kept as evidence.
It then spread to the old building, which is not in use. According to the police, the site of the fire is at some distance from the new police station, which was unaffected. There are houses around the place where the fire took place and those living there came out due to the fire and smoke.
Two fire tenders were rushed to the site from Godhra and one from Lunawada. The only fire tender available in Shehra was also pressed into action. Details on the number of vehicles burned are not available immediately.
