Three highly anticipated films—Stree 2, Vedaa, and Khel Khel Mein—were released on the big screen on the occasion of Independence Day 2024. While the Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-starrer Stree 2 had a bumper opening on the first day, it was Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa that witnessed a slow start. 6.52 crore at the domestic box office, whereas Akshay Kumar-starrer earned just Rs. 5 crore on its opening day.

Detailed Box Office Analysis of Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein Vedaa had an overall 35.63 per cent occupancy for the Hindi language. Meanwhile, John Abraham’s film was released in three languages, including Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

On the other hand, Khel Khel Mein witnessed an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 40.26 per cent, with the majority of viewership during the night show. Speaking of Vedaa, the movie has turned out to be John Abraham’s biggest opening in six years, following the release of his film Satyameva Jayate in 2018.

Meanwhile, despite a modest opening, Khel Khel Mein outperformed Akshay Kumar’s recent releases in terms of initial box office earnings. The film had an occupancy rate of 45.25 per cen.
