Post the success of Pathaan , John Abraham is back in his action avatar, but this time around, he is not the antagonist but is helping the protagonist played by Sharavri in getting justice. Vedaa is a journey of a young woman, who faces and resists a repressive system, and John plays a court martialed Army Officer who trains her to fight her oppressors. Directed by Nikkhil Advani , the film is releasing on 15th August, and is clashing with Shraddha Kapoor led Stree 2 and Akshay Kumar ’s Khel Khel Mein.
Vedaa has been hitting the headlines for the past couple of weeks due to censor issues, the film was referred to the revising committee, with the filmmakers not knowing the reason behind it, and later, more than 9 minutes of content was asked to be edited. The film has till now sold over 11,000 tickets, amassing a total collection of over Rs 30 lakh. Vedaa is marginally ahead of Khel Khel Mein, which has collected about Rs 22 lakh in its advance sales, but it is way behind Stree 2, which has raked nearly Rs 7 crore worth Advance Booking.
After Vedaa , Sharvari is set to appear in Alpha alongside Alia Bhatt , Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor. This film marks the newest entry in Aditya Chopra ’s expanding spy universe. Meanwhile, John Abraham’s next project will be Tehran , co-starring Manushi Chhillar.
