The TV host, 62, told followers that she'd been left 'doubled down in agony' before doctors discovered she was suffering from a kidney stone. Speaking from her hopsital bed Vanessa said: 'Good morning from hospital, bit of a surprise, yesterday I was absolutely fine, completely fine and I had the [grandchildren] over for lunch and I was completely fine '.

'There was nothing wrong with me at all and then suddenly I got this pain and it was just absolutely extraordinary I've never had anything like it and i've given birth to two children naturally and never had any pain like that in my life'. Vanessa, who is shares daughters Allegra, 38, and Saskia, 35, with ex-husband Michael Kurer, said that while she is usually 'a trooper' and battles through illness, she was so unwell she was forced to miss her LBC radio show.
