A US woman is debating whether to break up with her fiance after he proposed to her with a US$38 ($63) Temu engagement ring – despite the fact he earns US$200,000 ($334,532) a year. The woman, 27, shared the story behind her proposal on Reddit anonymously, explaining she had been with her partner, 29, for three years when he proposed. After she called out his choice of engagement ring, he then suggested she choose a ring and buy it with her own money, she said.

Despite this, she then revealed she was choosing to stay engaged, although many on the social media platform warned her to “run”. In her initial post, the bride-to-be wrote, “I really liked the ring when I first saw it and my friends and family all think it is stunning. It’s an oval cut with ‘diamonds’ across the band.
