Thursday, August 15, 2024 The Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) revealed today that US travel agencies generated $7.9 billion in air ticket sales for July 2024, marking a 5% increase compared to both the same month last year and the previous month.

Passenger trips in July also showed improvement, with 24.1 million trips recorded, reflecting a 6% rise from June and a 10% jump from July 2023. ARC’s Chief Commercial Officer, Steve Solomon, remarked, “We have not seen the expected decline in traveler demand in the sales figures from U.

S. agencies as we move into the second half of the year. This is a positive sign for both travel agencies and airlines.

With the end of summer, airlines will likely depend on corporate travel to maintain the growth in passenger trips.” In July 2024, New Distribution Capability (NDC) transactions made up 19.7% of ARC’s monthly transaction volume, representing a 55% increase compared to the same period last year.

Over 950 travel agencies reported engaging in NDC transactions during this month..
