Prayagraj: The Vice Chancellor of UPRTOU, Prof Satyakam, said that the students of UPRTOU can pursue another course from a different university or institution and take degrees of two courses from two different universities simultaneously . This means that a student who is currently enrolled in any undergraduate course at UPRTOU, for instance, BA, can pursue BCom or any other course from another university (for example, Allahabad University, Lucknow University, or Prof Rajendra Singh Rajju Bhaiya State University). While enrolled as student at UPRTOU, he or she can pursue another course as regular student in a different university.
“We have taken this important decision for larger welfare of the students, and this decision is in compliance with the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP),” said the VC. This system has been implemented from the 2024-25 session itself, he added. The Vice Chancellor further said that NEP has been implemented in all the courses being run in the university.
Prof Satyakam said that earlier diploma courses were allowed in the university. There are a total of 1,300 study centres affiliated to all regional centres of Uttar Pradesh (Prayagraj, Lucknow, Bareilly, Agra, Meerut, Kanpur, Jhansi, Noida, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya) including the main campus of the Open University. Apart from degree, diploma, and certificate, admissions are done in awareness courses at these centres.
