Kannada psychological thriller film, Upendra, was released in 1999 and has been re-released in theatres once again. The film is celebrating its 25th anniversary and to commemorate that, the makers decided to jump on the bandwagon of the ‘re-releasing old films’ trend. Generally, after a film is released once again in the theatres, no one expects the lead actor to be present there.

However, the actor and director of the Upendra film, Upendra Rao was present in one of the screenings leaving fans around him shocked. Upendra Rao was present at the screening of his film, Upendra. He came to the 6 am show of his film at Narthaki Theatre on KG Road in Bengaluru and watched the film with his fans.

Pictures of him sitting among the audience have surfaced on the internet. Upendra was helmed and written by Upendra Rao. It featured him as the lead actor.

Apart from him, it featured actresses like Prema, Damini and Raveena Tandon. Originally, the film hit the screens on October 22, 1999. Now, it was re-released on September 20.

The re-release of the film also marks a birthday gift for the director by the makers. As per reports, after being at the screening at Narthaki Theatre, the director was also present at Veeresh Theatre. He watched the film there too by sitting among the fans.

The music for the movie was composed by Gurukiran, with cinematography by AV Krishna Kumar. The film was produced by Shilpa Srinivas. In the film, Upendra Rao’s character’s name is Naanu, which means, I.
