Prayagraj: Prior to making any changes in the course curriculum of classes 9 and 10, the UP Board has decided to seek the opinion of educational experts . For the changes being made in compliance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Board will organise seminars and workshops wherein experts from the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), along with prominent academicians of the UP Board, will participate. To conduct examinations in ten subjects instead of six in class 9 from the 2025-26 session and to implement other changes, including the three-language formula, in a phased manner, the Board had sought suggestions from students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders until June 29.
After receiving the suggestions, the Board will now organise a workshop with selected scholars working in top educational institutions, including CBSE and NCERT, at the Board headquarters to establish a framework for implementing the suggestions in the context of the National Education Policy 2020. The Board officials believe that any implemented changes should not exert additional pressure on the students and that the performance of UP Board students should be better in national-level competitive examinations compared to other boards.
