BEEKMANTOWN — Beekmantown celebrated a strong home win and a huge milestone for Payton Parliament in the team’s 4-0 win over NCCS thursday. “It was amazing,” Parliament said. “I thought we played amazing, and we worked hard, and all the seniors got out there, and it proved that we don’t have to just play our stars, but our seniors as well.

Parliament scored three goals on the night, securing her 200th point of her high school career with the final goal of the game. She joins teammate Grace McCasland as the two most recent Eagles to reach the point total. Being that it was senior night, it added extra satisfaction for Parliament to record the milestone.

“Definitely and not just because of my teammates being here, but my family, my entire family was here,” she said. “Everyone was here, and I wanted to perform well for them also.” Parliament scored the opening goal and game winner almost sixteen minutes into the first half, with Jillian Hagadorn recording the assist.

McCasland found the back of the net nearly 10 minutes later off of an assist from Paige Ebere, giving the Eagles a 2-0 lead heading into the half. In the second half, Parliament found her 199th and 200th point with a pair of goals at 3:50 and 8:10. McCasland set her up with the assist on the first goal, and on her final point of the night Ashley Barnes picked up an assist.

Beekmantown put 16 shots on the board in the match. The Cougars were unable to respond, with the team’s two shots being sav.
