Uncle Bill’s Pancake House, a breakfast mainstay at 3427 South Kingshighway in North Hampton, will close Oct. 8. Owner William Choi was not available at the restaurant Tuesday.

An employee confirmed the closure, which was first reported by KMOV. The location of Uncle Bill's 14196 Manchester Road in Manchester will remain open. Uncle Bill’s has been a staple of south city dining since the early 1960s.

A 1997 Post-Dispatch obituary for former owner Bette H. Ernst dates the restaurant’s change in identity from the Fireplace to Uncle Bill’s in 1960. Uncle Bill’s is the second old-school breakfast restaurant on South Kingshighway to close in recent years.

The Courtesy Diner at 3153 South Kingshighway shuttered in May 2022. This a breaking news story. Check back for updates.
