The 1930s Pullman-style Northern Belle – once part of the iconic Orient Express group – is heading to Lime Street Station, with a red carpet even laid out for passengers while boarding. Passengers will be picked up from Lime Street at 12pm on Thursday, December 12 on a Christmas luxury lunch journey which stops off at Crewe and Chester before returning home just after 6:30pm.
Pristine white linen and sparkling glassware will adorn the tables of the dining carriages which have been restored by specialist craftspeople, including muralists and mosaic artists. After boarding the train, guests will be greeted by a steward who will pour a glass of Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée Brut NV Champagne, while menus for the luxury seven-course lunch are handed out. The Christmas feast is accompanied by a sommelier's choice of wine, and the dishes are all created in the kitchen carriage on board.
