London has been voted the UK’s unfriendliest city due to its lack of small talk - and the fact that almost no one thanks the bus driver. In contrast, Northerners have been voted the friendliest in the UK. The national survey of 2000 people by mineral water brand, Aqua Pura found that 54 per cent of people thought the north of England had the friendliest people, while only 12 per cent of people in the south were thought of as friendly.

When it comes to why Londoners are considered rude, there was a couple of behaviours that people viewed as impolite - such as the fact that less than half of Londoners (48%) thank their taxi driver compared to almost 79 per cent of northern Irish people and 76 per cent of those from the north west.
