TYNGSBORO — It’s time to party, and the organizers of the annual Tyngsboro Block Party by the Bridge are inviting a crowd (except pets) to theirs. Organized by the town’s Recreation and Parks Department, the event draws several thousand people to the town center each year with activities focused near the intersection of Middlesex and Kendall roads across from the Tyngsboro Bridge. It is the town’s sixth year holding this party.

It’s been held annually since 2018, except in 2020 when COVID forced its cancellation. Among those anticipating the Aug. 24 event is Eric Eldridge, who chairs the Select Board.

“The Block Party provides something for everyone — fun activities, live music, craft activities, and great food throughout the day, finishing off with our fantastic fireworks show at dusk,” Eldridge said. More that 150 vendors, including local crafters, artisans, local businesses, and food trucks will set up booths. The number of vendors participating has grown over the years.

Two years ago about 100 participated. This year’s entertainment will include what organizers describe as three high energy bands. They are StraightJacket, which plays ’90s alternative rock; 7 Day Weekend, which plays hits from across many decades; and The Beautiful Losers, a Bob Seger tribute band.

New this year is a game zone on Kendall Road near the fire station. This feature will challenge participants to a rock wall, a bungee trampoline, a shark ride, a hoop shoot, ax throwing, and .
