Two held on charge of damaging nine vehicles

Pune: Two men were arrested on the charge of damaging nine parked vehicles in Kalepadal in Hadapsar on Sunday. A 24-year-old resident of Kalepadal lodged a complaint with the Wanowrie police. The police swung into action and arrested one of the suspects on Sunday night.

One more suspect was arrested by the Pune crime branch. "Search is underway for the remaining suspects," an officer from the Wanowrie police said. He said the investigations revealed that the complainant and the arrested suspect had entered into a quarrel over some issue recently.

"In a fit of rage, the suspects' group damaged the vehicles," he said. The officer said the nine damaged vehicles comprising two vans, two mini-trucks and five autorickshaws. "The suspects smashed the windscreens of these vehicles with a stick and stones," the officer said.
