Pune: Two women died and five others were injured in a collision between a compact SUV and a private bus at Pimpalgaon Joga village about 100km from Pune on Kalyan-Ahmednagar highway on Sunday morning. The injured included four people in the SUV and the bus's cleaner. Five passengers in the bus sustained minor injuries , Pune Rural police said.

The Otur police identified the deceased as Bhagyashree Gaikar (18) and her aunt Kusum Shingote (55), both from Ahmednagar. Gaikar's father Sahebrao, mother Savita, elder brother Sahil, and a relative Sunita Hadavale sustained severe injuries. Bus cleaner Samir Das (40) of Goregaon in Mumbai also sustained severe injuries.

"Five passengers in the bus sustained minor injuries," assistant inspector Lahu Thate of the Otur police told TOI. Thate said the accident happened around 8am on Sunday when the compact SUV was heading towards Kalyan. “Due to the rain and fog, the visibility on the highway was low.
