Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man in his fifties fell from a balcony. Police were called to Black Friar Court, Salford, at around 8.40pm on Sunday night following reports a man had fallen from a balcony on the fourth floor.

A 57-year-old man was pronounced dead in the scene and police arrested a 37-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman on suspicion of murder. They remain in police custody for questioning and officers still have a scene in place. Detective Inspector David Ogden from the Salford district appealed for people with information to come forward.

He said: "We know the community will be concerned about this tragic death, and we share their concern. "We're appealing to anyone who has not yet spoken to us. Please don't assume that what you know is already known to us.
