com A television star has been arrested after his alleged involvement in a bar brawl. The Los Angeles Times reports “Ugly Betty” actor Eric Mabius was booked at Florida’s Nassau County Jail on Thursday morning on misdemeanor charges of battery and resisting a law enforcement officer without violence. Mabius, 53, was one of two people arrested in the fight at a bar in Yulee, about 25 miles outside of Jacksonville.
According to the arrest report, the incident involved a man and woman described as “extremely intoxicated people.” The drunk woman, who was also accused of spitting on people, allegedly shoved Mabius and another woman after being asked to leave multiple times by patrons and a bartender. Mabius is accused of knocking the two women to the ground during the altercation.
He allegedly “got on top of” one victim and was “pulling her hair, ripping a handful of her hair from her scalp,” according to the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office. Multiple people at the bar intervened by separating Mabius from the others, the arresting officer said. Mabius was taken outside by law enforcement.
