Pune: The tussle for tickets among constituents of Mahayuti and MVA is intensifying in Pimpri Chinchwad . Just two days after Shiv Sena MP Shrirang Barne said he would request chief minister Eknath Shinde to demand the Pimpri seat for his party in the alliance despite NCP having its sitting MLA here, NCP city unit of Pimpri Chinchwad on Sunday passed a resolution to stake claim for all three seats in the twin cities, including Bhosari and Chinchwad, where BJP has sitting MLAs. A proposal for the same had been forwarded to NCP chief Ajit Pawar, a party office-bearer said.

On Saturday, BJP's Pimpri Chinchwad city unit also passed a resolution to demand all three assembly seats, including Pimpri, where the party does not have a sitting MLA. BJP leader Ashiwini Jagtap is the current MLA from Chinchwad. The party's Mahesh Landge is Bhosari MLA.

In the Pimpri reserved seat, NCP's Anna Bansode is the current MLA. The situation is not different in the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance. Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SCP) have staked claim for Pimpri and Bhosari seats.

Two aspirants from NCP (SCP), Ajit Gavhane and Sulakshana Shilvant Dhar, have started their poll preparations in Bhosari and Pimpri, respectively. Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Sulabha Ubale and Ravi Landge are eyeing the Bhosari seat. The party's city president, Sachin Bhosale, wants to contest from Pimpri.
