It had been over six years since the last time the Camanche Storm defeated the Cascade Cougars in volleyball but that all changed on Tuesday when the Storm picked up the River Valley Conference win in four sets. After losing set one 12-25, the Storm rattled off three in a row, winning 25-21, 25-22 and 25-17. Led by Miley Duritza with 13 kills, the Storm got a much needed win to improve to 9-8 on the year.

Abbi Nylin added 16 assists, Annika Weber had 18 digs and Cali Waltz had seven service aces. The Storm will play at Monticello on Thursday night at 7 p.m.

It was all Fulton on Tuesday night as the Steamers cruised to a two set sweep over the Ashton-Franklin Center Pirates. The Steamers dominated both sets, winning 25-8 and 25-11. Chloe Wilkin led the team with five kills followed by Miraya Pessman with four kills and seven assists.

Brianne Brennan also had seven assists and Resse Germann led the team with 10 digs. Fulton will play at Amboy on Thursday night at 7 p.m.

The Pleasant Valley Spartans have been dominant all year, boasting a 16-2 record, and were once again dominant on Tuesday night as they swept the Clinton River Queens. The Spartans got the win 25-11, 25-9 and 25-8 to stay at second place in the Mississippi Athletic Conference standings. Their one loss was to North Scott.

Clinton is 3-15 and will host Central DeWitt on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. The Calamus-Wheatland Knights defeated the Easton Valley River Hawks in four sets on Tuesday night.
