Pune: In Wadgaon Sheri , trouble is not just brewing within the Mahayuti but also within the MVA as they both vie to claim the seat. Mahayuti is facing trouble in claiming the seat with BJP aspirant Jagdish Mulik and sitting MLA Sunil Tingre both wanting the ticket. Within the MahaVikas Aghadi, Shiv Sena UBT and Sharad Pawar's NCP aspirants are also making the rounds of Mumbai to please their parties for a ticket.

Several programmes during the festivals are being organised by all aspirants in the constituency, and door-to-door visits have already begun. Traditionally, Wadgaon Sheri has always seen a contest between candidates from the BJP and NCP, but now with the alliance coming into play, aspirants are finding it tough to stake their claims. The BJP aspirant and former MLA Jagdish Mulik has been openly vocal about his opposition to sitting MLA Tingre, who is also part of the mega alliance govt.

On the other hand, there is a tug-of-war within the Maha Vikas Aghadi, with Sharad Pawar's NCP and Thackeray's Shiv Sena keen on securing this constituency. From the MVA, besides Bhujbal, former corporator Sanjay Bhosale and deputy leader Sushma Andhare are also interested in contesting the election. Last week, senior leader Sharad Pawar conducted a rally in Wadgaon Sheri to publicly welcome veteran leader Bapu Pathare into the NCP, who had previously joined the BJP, which raised further speculation regarding the MVA candidature for Wadgaon Sheri.
