October 2 : Uber Safari, a limited-edition, once-in-a-lifetime wildlife experience from Cape Town, South Africa is now bookable via the Uber app - putting the continent's most iconic travel excursion at travellers' fingertips. As part of its 'Go Anywhere' series, Aussies heading to South Africa (or locals looking for a weekend thrill) can book a full-day, luxurious, eco-conscious safari experience, directly from their Uber app, from now until February 1. It is bookable 90 days to 24 hours in advance using Uber's Reserve technology and will run on Fridays and Saturdays, costing a $US200 ($290) flat fee for a group of up to four guests.
The full day trip starts with a private Uber pickup in Cape Town where guests can sit back and relax as they head to one of South Africa's best game reserves - the lavish Aquila Game Reserve . Upon arrival, guests will enjoy a welcome toast and lunch before boarding a traditional safari vehicle with experienced game rangers and field guides. During a nearly three-hour long game drive, they'll have the opportunity to spot South Africa's magnificent Big Five and other native species.
