Thursday, August 15, 2024 Climate activists carried out protests at several German airports early this morning, causing significant disruptions, including flight cancellations and delays. The Last Generation group, consisting of eight activists, initiated protests at Berlin, Cologne-Bonn, Nuremberg, and Stuttgart airports, starting around 5 a.m.

In response to the protests, flights at Cologne-Bonn Airport were suspended when two activists reportedly attached themselves to the asphalt. Although flights later resumed, significant disruptions were noted. Specifically, Eurowings flight EW816 to Catania was canceled at 2:15 PM.
