A man was helped to hospital in Bolton earlier today after police were called to a street near a railway. Trains into and out of Bolton Station on Trinity Street were delayed as police were called to the incident on Lever Street, off Nelson Street in Great Lever on the morning of Thursday August 8. The officers arrived on the scene at around 10.
15am and remained there until around 11.40am that same morning. A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 10.
15am this morning, August 8 2024, officers responded to a report regarding the concern for the welfare of a man on Lever Street, Bolton. Trains were delayed at Bolton Station (Image: Newsquest) "He was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment." Would-be passengers at the train station were warned that morning that trains were likely to be delayed in all directions from Trinity Street.

An NWAS spokesperson said: "We were called to Lever Street to reports of a concern for welfare incident at 10.25am.
"One patient will be taken to hospital." Trains were able to move through the station while members of the public could walk along Lever Street by later on that morning..
