Complaints have been made about lights which were change on a road while resurfacing work took place in Bolton . The issue has been raised by people on Hospital Road, Bromley Cross. They say that the lights are only allowing two or three cars to pass in one go.

As a result traffic is building up and going all the way back to the Co-op store on Darwen Road. The roadworks are on Darwen Road and Turton Road . The works began on July 22 and were due to last around four weeks depending on the weather conditions.

She said they needed to be reset. She said: "Drivers are currently experiencing delays at the traffic lights at the junction of Darwen Road and Hospital Road in Bromley Cross.

"This is a result of the recent resurfacing work. The lights need to be reset, loops recut, and Urban Traffic Control (UTC) do this. "They are booked weeks in advance when a project is being undertaken.

In this case, the resurfacing work was completed ahead of schedule and so we are waiting for UTC to re cut the loops. "We are advised that this should be done before the schools return after the summer break but are awaiting confirmation of the timescale."
