Wednesday, August 21, 2024 TAT launches ‘Nihao Month’ to celebrate 50 years of Thai-Chinese ties, boosting tourism and cultural exchange. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced the launch of “Nihao Month,” a festive campaign scheduled for September and October, leading up to the 50th anniversary in 2025 of Thailand and China’s diplomatic ties. The celebrations are set to include appearances by celebrated Chinese actor Luo Yunxi, along with Thai stars DaOu Pittaya Sae-chow and Mai Davika Hoorne.

The kickoff event was presided over by Mr. Sermsak and featured dignitaries such as Mrs. Chang Yumeng, Cultural Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, and Ms.

Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of TAT, alongside notable figures from the private sector. TAT aims to attract 250,000 Chinese visitors during the Golden Week through these promotions, projecting around 500 million impressions to bolster Thailand’s reputation as a top choice for Chinese tourists. Additionally, from September 19 to October 31, Chinese tourists can enjoy the “Chinese Passport Special Deals.

” These offers are available at various venues including shopping centers, transport services, duty-free outlets, spas, and eateries, providing exclusive deals and lifestyle perks upon presentation of their passports. TAT is also organizing two friendship caravan journeys between Thailand and China for 200 participants. The first caravan, from September 22 to October 13, includes 50 particip.
