Deborah Flint, President and Chief Executive Officer of Toronto Pearson, announced that J’Maine Chubb, the GTAA’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), has decided to resign, effective November 27, 2024. Chubb will return to the United States with his family after contributing to Toronto Pearson’s financial and strategic initiatives since joining in February 2023.
During his tenure, Chubb mobilized the Finance team to support critical initiatives, leaving a meaningful and lasting impact on the airport’s operations and long-term goals. Debbie Simpson Steps in as Interim CFO To ensure seamless financial leadership, Debbie Simpson will join the GTAA as Interim CFO, effective November 20, 2024. Simpson brings over 30 years of senior financial expertise and a proven track record of strategic and transformational leadership.
Her extensive experience includes serving as CFO at Li-Cycle, where she spearheaded strategic funding initiatives and built a robust finance function. Prior to that, Simpson held the CFO role at Maple Leaf Foods, leading significant acquisitions and securing over $2 billion in funding. Her appointment underscores Toronto Pearson’s commitment to advancing its strategic priorities and capital projects with stability and expertise.
