After a year away from the spotlight, former This Morning host is making his grand return in Channel 5's Cast Away. A far cry from how viewers are used to seeing him, the 62-year-old TV personalty has ditched the life of luxury for a remote island off the coast of Madagascar. Throughout three episodes, viewers will see dad-of-two Phillip tackle a huge physical and mental challenge as he's alone for ten days and nine nights on the unpopulated island.

With the production crew stationed 30 minutes offshore, only to intervene if necessary, Philip's health and physical safety will be monitored as the days go on. In a first look at what's to come, Channel 5 have released a glimpse of his time on the island. Sleeping topless, Philip is awoken by a horrendous storm which is wreaking havoc on his bed set-up.

Filming on his camera, he says: "Bl**dy hell! Disaster has struck. Howling wind blowing through everything. "It's taken out all the front.

This is about to tear itself to pieces and there's still every possibility that it will. Wasn't expecting that." The official trailer shows the unshaven TV star in front of a fire as he tells people he only has the camera he's recording with him on the island.

He commented: "I can say whatever I want about whatever I want. It's my chance to tell my side of my story." Within the clip, people saw shots of him walking solo on the , cutting a coconut in half for a drink and speaking into the camera at night.

He added: "I know what I did was unwise .
