Ashley Walters stars in Top Boy (Image: NETFLIX) Today, Netflix has announced that production has started on a new one-shot crime drama fronted by Top Boy ’s Ashley Walters, Boiling Point actor Stephen Graham and The Crown star Erin Doherty. The show, which has been given the working title of Adolescence, is currently filming in the UK. The star-studded cast also includes stars like Game of Thrones ’ Faye Marsay, The Responder’s Christine Tremarco, Happy Valley’s Mark Stanley and After Life’s Jo Hartley.
Meanwhile, Owen Cooper will be joining them in his first major television role, and newcomer Amélie Pease will make her exciting debut. The ambitious one-shot will be a four-part series directed by Philip Barantini, with each episode being filmed continuously as the drama unfolds in real-time. The show tells the story of how a family’s world is turned upside down when 13-year-old Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper) is arrested and charged with the murder of a teenage girl who goes to his school.
