The actor and comedian has voiced Buzz since the original 1995 Toy Story film, alongside co-star Tom Hanks, who voices Woody. Speaking to Collider , Allen admits that it was strange to return to a character he had not voiced since 2019’s Toy Story 4 .
“I just did the first five-hour session for Buzz, probably a week ago,” Allen said. “It’s really, really weird to get back in it.” With Buzz being the focus of the upcoming 2026 sequel, it’s no surprise that the star has nothing short of praise for the film, assuring fans that the movie wasn’t created solely for the money.

Had they not come up with a brilliant script, they wouldn’t have done it and they wouldn’t have called me and Tom. It’s really clever.” he said.
“It was really a struggle to get, and then maybe two hours in, I was doing Buzz. I’m so blessed to be Buzz Lightyear, to be honest,” he added, “It’s gonna be fun. It’s really good.
” While the franchise’s long-running nature might make new entries seem like a cash grab, it has constantly proven.
