Pune: Three unknown men threw chilli power power into the eyes of two representatives of a self-help group (SHG) and robbed their bag containing Rs 3.2 lakh at Gundalwadi village in Khed taluka on Monday night . The two victims were returning home with collecting money for the day, Khed police said.

An officer from the Khed police said late on Monday, when the duo reached near a poultry farm near Gundalwadi, three men suddenly appeared in front of their motorcycle. As soon as they stopped the motorcycle, the trio hurled chilli powder into their eyes. This caused both of them to fall off the motorcycle, he said, adding that the trio attacked them with sticks and one of them snatched the bag containing cash from the pillion rider.

They then escaped into the dark," the officer said. He said the duo later approached the police and filed a complaint. "We registered a case of robbery against the trio.
