Vadodara: Anand police have detained three individuals accused in connection with the sexual assault of a minor on Sunday night. According to Anand police, a girl from Bedva village was sexually assaulted at Khadipura Primary School in Sarsa. "The girl was at her home on Sunday night when her friend came there and asked her to accompany her to the school at around 10pm," J N Panchal, deputy superintendent of police, said on Monday.
"When the girl got to the primary school, her friend's brother, Mukesh Padhiyar, and his friend, Sanjay Chauhan, were present. Under the guise of offering her drinking water from a plastic bottle, Chauhan drugged the minor, after which he started sexually assaulting her," said Panchal. Chauhan allegedly bit the minor on her cheek and started touching her.
The girl started screaming, after which locals rushed to the school premises, causing the accused to flee. "The victim was first taken to Sarsa Hospital, and she is now undergoing further examination at SSG Hospital in Vadodara," he said. The accused have been booked for sexual assault and offences under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act ( Pocso ) at Khambolaj police station.
"The accused will be further interrogated and will be arrested," Panchal said..
