The annual Kempsey Cup is back with thousands expected to turn up and flaunt their looks for this year's Fashions of the Field. or signup to continue reading A crowd of 2,500 people are expected to attend Akubra's Kempsey Cup at Warwick Park on Friday, November 8, with the fashion prize pool hitting $5,500. It's the biggest day of the year for Kempsey Race Club with the support of the community a stand out for the club's Secretary of 40 years, John Graham.

"I know I say this every year, but the way the Macleay Valley people support the Kempsey Cup is fantastic," Mr Graham said. It's so good to see the locals get behind it and it's a sort of catch-up day for a lot of people." Mr Graham says it's not only a big day for the race club, it's one of the biggest events for Kempsey Shire.

"There's not a lot of things that happen anymore for that size grab." Mr Graham will be retiring from Kempsey Race Club after four decades at the end of the year. He says he is looking forward to next year's cup where can enjoy being a spectator with the community.

Horses and jockeys will come from all over the East Coast of New South Wales, from Newcastle to Grafton. The odds are split between the most popular things to do on Akubra Kempsey Cup Day with the crowd typically glued to both the track and to the trends. This year's prize pool for Fashions on the Field is believed to be the biggest to date.
