Prayagraj: Extending support to aspirants of state civil services, protesting outside the UPPSC headquarters here in support of their demands, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday said he wanted to join the movement but as many people would have claimed it to be a politically motivated move he did not join it. He, however, added that he wanted to congratulate and support the aspirants through this platform. Akhilesh was addressing a public rally at Rudrapur in support of INDIA bloc candidate Mujtaba Siddiqui.
The former CM said, "Suspecting that I might join the movement district and police officers started removing aspirants of state civil services from outside the UPPSC headquarters. They even deployed policemen in plain clothes to remove women aspirants from the spot. But youths of Prayagraj have given a clear message that it is now the ‘Yogi versus Pratiyogi' in the state.
" Akhilesh said, "It is unfortunate that educated youths are being compelled to hold an agitation and those who talk about ‘one country, one election' are not being able to conduct even one examination in the state properly. The fact is that the BJP is scared of the PDA alliance." Launching a scathing attack on the BJP, he said that UP govt has failed to fulfil promises made to the public.
"The BJP is playing with the future of youths and govt is involved in paper leaks and cancellation of exams," he said and added, "The BJP is doing negative politics to divert the people's attention .
