Famous for its castle, cheese and gorgeous surroundings, the town of Caerphilly has a population of 176,000 and has historically been home to an ageing population. And yet, young people are calling it a buzzing place to be - while still offering a slice of peace and quiet away from busier, more expensive cities. Every person who spoke to WalesOnline on our visit earlier this week said they believe things could be shifting in the town's efforts to be seen as “up and coming", with its bustling vibe and feel-good atmosphere.

Caerphilly's own shipping container-style market, Ffos, recently opened, marking the first stage of the Caerphilly Town 2035 Placemaking Plan. And with more projects in the pipeline for the town as well as trendy new businesses like the new Healthy High Club and its sauna, it seems like the town really could be the place to be for a younger demographic.
