A look at the Norfolk Tides as they return to Harbor Park on Tuesday to begin a six-game series against the Durham Bulls, the top affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays: Norfolk’s record: 52-56 New in town: After a flurry of moves at the trade deadline last week, Baltimore optioned LHP Keegan Akin to Norfolk. Akin returns to Harbor Park after compiling a 3.34 ERA in 47 relief appearances this season with the Orioles.
Akin, a former second-round pick, has appeared in 148 games for the Orioles over the past five seasons after several stints in Norfolk. In the Durham dugout: OF Nick Schnell made his Triple-A debut with the Bulls last week after batting .262 with nine home runs and 42 RBIs at Double-A Montgomery.
