In an announcement made by the cruise line Wednesday, Silversea said they will be opening a hotel in the southernmost city of Puerto Williams, Chile at the end of 2025.

Set along the windswept Northern shores of Navarino Island, Puerto Williams is best known as a port town and gateway for travelers seeking to explore Patagonia’s legendary Tierra del Fuego as well as jumping off point for sailing to Antarctica. Located along the southern tip of South America and only accessible by boat or plane, this remote city with a population of around 2,800 residents is billed as the southern-most populated city on Earth. Silversea is the only cruise line that homeports in Puerto Williams during the Antarctica season which starts in late October and runs through March, and says the hotel will be a game changer for travelers headed to the white continent.
